Day 11: At Sea

Today was the first of another four days at sea as we make our way from Kauai to Ensenada, Mexico. We treated ourselves to breakfast at the Horiizon Court on Deck 14, rather than our customary continental brekfast in our stateroom. We sat at a table under the dome of the Calypso pool next door:
Later in the morning we attended one of Princess' enrichment lectures, this one was about tropical cyclones. The speaker  described the differences between hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones. He went on to show some pictures from some of the more notorious storms. Very interesting.

After an hour of lounging, we attended another ukelele  lesson. This one was more of a rehearsal for our recital on Sunday. We're starting to get the hang of playing the instrument, but we're still keeping our day jobs.

Standing on our stateroom balcony on Deck 9 looking forward:

Weather today was +25C with light winds at 15 knots giving waves 5 feet high. A much smoother ride than a week ago.

Tonight was another formal evening, but this time we had a special treat. Fred (one of our dinner table mates) invited us to a reception for Platinum and Elite members of the Captin's Circle - Princess' loyalty program. We got to meet the captain of the Grand Princess, and the host introduced the passengers who have the most days at sea with Princess. 1,300 days over 70+ cruises for one couple. Wow.

After dinner we spent our evening at Crooners - one of the six lounges on board - listening to some wonderful dinner jazz.

Tomorrow: more relaxing at sea.
